COVID-19 Information for guests

** UPDATE **

We will be closed from Thursday 5th November 2020 as a result of the latest update from the government. We are still open and operating in tier 2 restrictions until then! (See below for tier 2 rules)

As of 17th October 2020, we will be following the government’s rules for North East Derbyshire which has now been placed in the High Risk COVID-19 category. The rules (direct from government website) are as follows:

“Venues following COVID secure guidance can host more people in total, but no one must mix indoors with anyone who they do not live with (or have formed a support bubble with) unless exemptions apply. Outdoors, you can meet in groups of up to 6 people.

This includes in:

  • pubs and restaurants
  • shops
  • leisure and entertainment venues
  • places of worship

At least one person in your group should give their contact details to the venue or check in using the official NHS COVID-19 app so NHS Track and Trace can contact you if needed.”

The safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff is our priority and we will take all necessary precautions to ensure their continued welfare. We will be making sure to follow guidance from Public Health England and the authorities to reduce risk from COVID-19 at The Horse and Jockey.

After the completion of our  Covid Reopening Risk Assessment we’ve implemented measures to ensure the health of our staff and customers is protected wherever possible. The full risk assessment can be viewed by clicking the link above, the measures include increased personal hygiene for staff, the addition of hand wash stations around the venue,  the encouragement of contactless payments,  social distancing wherever possible and a reduction in face to face ordering at the bar.

We are implementing a traffic light system at our venues. This means you can clearly see before entering the building if there is any table availability, reducing an unnecessary amount of people entering the building. If it’s green this means we have plenty of space. If it’s amber, you’re welcome to come in and be seated but we are busier so we ask you to be mindful of others inside. If it shows red, unfortunately we have no tables available inside, you are welcome to see if there are any for you to sit outside.

We kindly ask that anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 does not visit the venue and instead follows the government’s advice on self isolation and seeking medical attention.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
